Why Elsewhere
The good internet didn't disappear. It got buried.
The internet used to be a place you could wander. You'd click one link, then another, and end up somewhere you never would have looked for.
Now most of it comes to us through feeds, and feeds are tuned to keep us scrolling. The good stuff is still there: essays someone spent a year on, tools someone built because they wanted them to exist, talks that change how you think. It just doesn't win the fight for attention.
Elsewhere is one button that takes you to it. Every find was suggested by a person and voted in by other people. When a find gets in, the person who found it gets the credit.
What we care about
- Taste over volume. There are no points for pressing more. You keep one find a day. Curators are credited for finding good things, not for posting a lot.
- Credit where it's due. Every find shows who found it. Every Top Pick shows who called it early.
- Free and open. No paywalls, no sign-up to explore, no ads.
- Keeping links alive. When a find breaks, curators rescue it.
Who's behind it
Elsewhere is built by Genuine Jack, with a community of curators who'd rather share something great than scroll past it.
