Using Elsewhere
Elsewhere is a one-button tour of pages that people picked by hand. It is free to use, with or without an account.
Every find is a link to a page someone else made. Those pages belong to their owners, who set their own rules. Elsewhere shows them in a frame where the site allows it and opens them in a new tab where it does not. We do not control, edit, or stand behind what is on them.
Use Elsewhere as a person would: press the button, read, keep, and share. Do not use it to attack other sites, to scrape, or to do anything the law forbids where you are.
Elsewhere comes as it is. It may change, pause, or stop, and a link that worked yesterday may not work today.
Your content
With an account you can suggest finds, vote, enter the Weekly Expedition, propose rescues, and write a short bio. What you write stays yours.
By suggesting a find or writing on Elsewhere you let us show it on the site, in the Monday picks, in the newsletter, and in shares, with your handle as the credit ("Found by @handle"). You can ask us to remove the credit or the text.
Suggest only what you have the right to share, and follow the Guidelines: a specific page, free to read or use, in English, at a stable link, and none of the things the Guidelines rule out.
We can hide or remove any find, vote, or text, and we can close an account that breaks these terms or the Guidelines. Where we can, we say why.
The full list is on the Guidelines page.
Copyright and takedowns
Elsewhere links to pages and shows them in a frame. It does not copy their text, images, or video into its own pages.
If you own a page that appears on Elsewhere and want it taken down, or shown only as a link that opens in a new tab, email the address below. Say which Elsewhere page and which original page you mean, who you are, and what you want done.
We read every notice, act on it as soon as we can, and reply to the address it came from. Where a site owner objects to framing, the find opens in a new tab instead.
If you believe a find on Elsewhere infringes copyright you hold, the same address and the same details apply.
Send copyright notices to hello@exploreelsewhere.xyz.
Changes
These terms can change. The date at the top of this page says when they last did.
A change that matters to how you use Elsewhere is announced on the site before it applies. Using Elsewhere after a change means the new terms apply to you.
